Pending means the outcome is not final

A pending payment can represent an authorization while the merchant finishes processing. It may affect the available balance before a completed purchase is recorded. The merchant order and the card transaction may update at different times.

Completed means the charge has finished

Use the completed record to match the payment with the receipt. Its amount and currency are the figures to compare when reconciling your purchases. Keep the reference for a later refund or support question.

Reversals and refunds follow different paths

A reversal releases an earlier authorization. A refund returns money after a purchase has been charged. Either can explain why a balance changes after the original payment, but their records should not be treated as a second purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Should I repeat a pending payment?

Check the merchant’s order status first. Repeating it can create a separate payment attempt.
