Identify the original payment

Start with the completed charge or pending authorization that relates to the order. Keep the merchant receipt and card transaction reference together. This makes it easier to match any later return of funds.

Refund and reversal are different

A refund follows a charged purchase. A reversal can release an authorization that did not become a completed charge. Ask the merchant for the relevant confirmation and follow the card record rather than assuming both events use the same timeline.

Check the affected balance

Review the original card’s activity and refresh its balance. Do not assume a card refund becomes wallet funds or a crypto withdrawal. If the merchant confirms a refund but the account record has not changed, contact support with both references.

Frequently asked questions

Can a merchant refund be used while it is pending?

Use the available balance shown for the card. A refund notification alone does not mean the funds are ready to spend.
