Direct Bitcoin payments

A direct BTC payment sends Bitcoin to the recipient’s address. The recipient must accept that payment method and provide the correct instructions. The transfer is followed using its blockchain transaction reference.

Card purchases funded with Bitcoin

With a BTC-funded virtual card, you first deposit Bitcoin, then load available funds onto a card. The merchant receives a card payment through its normal checkout. The crypto deposit reference and the merchant payment reference identify different steps.

Plan for the funding stage

Allow time for the deposit to be processed before a bill is due. Track the deposit in Wallet and confirm the card load before spending. A transfer that has been sent is not yet the same as a ready card balance.

Frequently asked questions

Does the card send BTC to each merchant?

No. BTC funds the account; supported purchases use the card payment flow.
